ROUNDLY TWISTED GOLD AND SILVER THREAD

PURPOSE:To provide gold and silver threads excellent in touch feeling without fears for turning inside out and end breakages and, further, without corrosion of a metal deposited layer and uneven luster. CONSTITUTION:On one side of a synthetic resin film such as polyethylene terephthalate, nylon, etc., having 6-9mum thickness, a metal deposited layer such as gold, silver or aluminum, etc., having 20-100nm thickness, preferably 35-60nm thickness is formed through a resin undercoat layer having 0.05-2mum thickness, preferably 0.1-1mum thickness. On the upper layer of the same a urea-melamine- based coating is coated by gravure method to form a corrosion proof coating having 0.1-2mum thickness, preferably 0.5-1.5mum thickness and, at the same time, a colored resin coating layer is formed on the other side of the metal deposited film to obtain a laminated body. Two sheets of the laminated body are unitedly bonded with the corrosion proof coating inside through a urethane-base adhesive layer, and slit into stripes to obtain plain leaf threads. The plain leaf threads are wound around a core fiber to obtain roundly twisted gold and silver threads.
