DRUM CHANGE AUXILIARY DEVICE

PURPOSE:To save labor in a change of a winding drum and to improve productivity of a cable. CONSTITUTION:A drum change auxiliary device 12 is arranged above the first winder 14 and is provided with a rail 40, which is arranged while employing a pass line L of a cable 2 as the center line, a helper 32, which is freely movable on the rail 30, and an automatic cutter 34, which automatically cuts the cable 2 at right behind the helper 32. In attaching of the cable 2 on an empty winding drum 22 in the first winder 14, a rotational drive of the helper 32 is stopped when the tip 2a of the cable 2 reaches a pick finding point of the drum 22, and then, attaching work is carried out. The cable 2 continuously fed during this process can be absorbed as being hung from the rail 30 toward a floor FL. In this way, attaching work of the cable 2 in a change of winding drum can be carried out by a single worker.
