LINE-UP DEVICE FOR ROD-LIKE ARTICLE

PURPOSE:To automatically line up rod-like articles by setting the rod-like articles at a predetermined position with the use of a handling device, and by retaining the trailing end one of the rod-like articles by a rolling checking device. CONSTITUTION:After a predetermined number of ICs having a satisfactory quality are packed in a magazine 10 at a good quality article packing station 25, the packed magazine 10A is held by a handling device 33 which lifts up and carries the packed magazine 10A to a predetermined position. Then, the packed magazine 10A is set on one of packed magazines 10 which have been already lined up in a lower stage row within a container 31. In this phase, the packed magazine 10A is adjacent to a packed magazine 10A which has been previously carried, that is, which is arranged at the trailing end of the same stage row. Then, a retaining block 43 which has retained the previous packed magazine 10A is shifted onto the present packed magazine 10A which is therefore retained thereby. After it is retained, the holding of the handling device 33 is released.
