Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To provide a high pressure discharge lamp having high durability against the attack by halides and an acceptable and useful long life. CONSTITUTION: One constituent having a feeding through part 9 is so inserted in an aperture as to form a gap and in this case, a first band of the gap facing with electric discharge is sealed with a first sealing glass 14a which is melted at high temperature. Moreover, a second band of the gap parted from the electric discharge is sealed with a second sealing glass 14b which is melted at a low temperature.
