COLOR PRINTING MATERIAL WITH VARIABLE GRADATION

PURPOSE: To provide the material and preferably, color negative paper having variable gradation. CONSTITUTION: This material has ordinary three silver halide emulsion layers each of which is differently sensitized from the others, and also, at least one silver halide emulsion layer (control layer) contg. no color coupler that has a spectral sensitization range being outside the sensitization ranges of the above image-forming layers, wherein the control layer contains a substance A capable of releasing a compound B that changes the gradation of the image-forming layers at the time of performing the negative development of a silver halide emulsion (control emulsion) used in the control layer. Thus, this material can be used as a printing material having variable gradation.
