Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To improve heat exchanging efficiency by bonding a porous body of copper or a porous body of copper alloy containing copper integrally to a body of a member. CONSTITUTION:Powder of copper oxide, in the form of gas, is applied to a synthetic resin expanded material which is coated with an adhesive beforehand, such as polyurethane foam, while powder of copper oxide is bonded to a copper plates. The copper plate coated with copper oxide powder is pressed on one side or on both sides of the synthetic resin expanded material coated with copper oxide powder to laminate them. Next, the laminated body is put into an incinerator to incinerate the synthetic resin expanded material, thereby forming a copper expanded material comprising copper oxide as a skeleton on the copper plate. Further, the laminated body is sintered in a reducing atmosphere such as a hydrogen reducing furnace to obtain a copper expanded material having copper plate on its one side or both sides, which is used to manufacture a heat transfer plate.
