Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To easily assemble a gas generator without impairing quality by designing a case to retain its circumference and end face between a combustion chamber cylinder and a retaining and centering ring mounted on a closed end face wall, and on the opposite side between the cylinder and a lid having a projection for form-fitting into a tubular filter. CONSTITUTION: A first filter 2 is pushed into an insert module 5 and is longitudinally guided and held by protrusions 23. A second tubular or hollow, cylindrical filter 20 radially outwardly leading to the insert module 5 is contained within a cylindrical sheet metal case 19, which forms a closing part with respect to the outside and which has a retaining and centering ring 3 at the terminal of its end face for mounting an assembled gas generator on the structure of a vehicle. A lid 4 has a projection 22 for form-fitting into the filter 20, and the filter and the lid are secured to each other.
