A work RAM 8 stores transmitted and received data in a memory control table, and a portable FAX originates a call to preliminarily determined and installed FAX and connects the line. Next, the portable FAX receives a PB signal, investigates the image information classification of a memory control table, transmitted and received data and various kinds of information, reads the information and transmits the information to the installed FAX. Thus, the portable FAX reduces printing that most consumes battery power, and lengthen the charging period of a battery. As a result, the use efficiency of the equipment is improved.
