Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain a new compound useful as a herbicide, having excellent herbicidal activity, showing high safety to crops. CONSTITUTION:This compound of formula I (R is a heterocyclic ring; R is H or a lower alkyl; R is an aryl; R and R each is a lower alkyl or R and R , together with carbon to which they are form a three-to eight-membered carbon ring) such as 6-methyl-3-(1-methyl-1-phenylethyl)-5-(2-thienyl)-2,3- dihydroxy-4H-1,3-oxazin-4-one. The compound, for example, is obtained by reacting a compound of formula II such as 2,2,6-trimethyl-5-(2-thienyl)-4H-1,3- dioxin-4-one with a compound of formula III such as N-methylene-1-methyl-1- phenylethylamine in a solvent such as xylene at 90 deg.C to 160 deg.C or the boiling point of the solvent.
