CEREBRAL FUNCTION IMPROVER COMPRISING SUCROSE ACRYL COMPOUND AS ACTIVE INGREDIENT

PURPOSE:To obtain a cerebral function improver having activating action on cholineacetyltransferase, comprising a sucrose acryl compound as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:This cerebral function improver comprises a compound of formula I [at least one of R1, R5 and R6 are an acyl of formula II or formula III (R9 to R14 are H, OH, a lower alkoxy or acetoxyl) and each of the others is acetyl, a lower alkoxy or H; R2 to R4, R7 and R8 each is H or acetyl] as an active ingredient. The compound of formula I is obtained by extraction and isolation from Lilium longiflorum, Lilium speciosum, Heloniopsis orientalis, Polygonum hydropiper, a Chirese crude medicine, Polygalae radix, a polygalaceous plant such as root of Polygala senega or a plant of the same genus. A cerebral function disorder such as cerebral infarction or dementia can be improved. The daily dose is 5-5,000mg/adult in the case of oral administration and 0.5-100mg/adult in the case of parenteral administration.
