PURPOSE:To shorten the exciting time of a heater in the next process and the total operating time by calculating the heating time based on the water temperature data in a washing tub and the heating capability data of the heater, and performing the heating by the heater in the later half of the washing process. CONSTITUTION:Hot water is fed to the prescribed water level from a hot water feeder in the primary washing process, then a washing pump and a washing timer are started. The stable temperature in a washing tub is measured after one minute. A control circuit controls the exciting time of a heater according to the temperature. The data required for control are formed as the delay time that the excitation of the heater is to be started at certain minutes and seconds after the start of washing, and the exciting time is obtained to set the temperature in the washing tub to the prescribed temperature when the prescribed primary washing time is completed if excitation is started based on the data. If the excitation of the heater is started when the elapsed time of the washing timer is larger than the delay time, the heater and the washing pump are turned off when the washing time elapses.
