Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain an emulsion useful as a base for a cosmetic and a medicine, having excellent stability in acidity at a high temperature and safety in terms of hygiene, by dispersing a polyisobutylene having a specific viscosity-average molecular weight and specific two kinds of emulsifying agents into water. CONSTITUTION:This emulsion is composed of (A) 100 pts.wt. of a polyisobutylene having 10,000-70,000 viscosity-average molecular weight, (B) 1-40 pts.wt. of a polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene block polymer of the formula [(a), (b) and (c) are 1-700] having 1,500-80,000 number-average molecular weight and (C) 1-20 pts.wt. of a sucrose fatty acid ester and the rest of water. Solid content of this emulsion is 1-75wt.%. The component B, for example, is obtained by polymerizing propylene oxide to give a polypropylene glycol and subjecting ethylene oxide to addition polymerization to active hydrogens at both ends of the compound.
