INDUCTION HEATING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To perform extremely uniform heating in the width direction of a strip by controlling the distribution of an eddy current generated in areas slightly inside of both end parts of the strip. CONSTITUTION:Auxiliary inductors 31, 32 and 4 are juxtaposed with each other on both sides by sandwiching main inductors 1 and 2 in the flow direction of a strip 9 between them. These auxiliary inductors 31, 32 and 4 are separately arranged in both edge parts of the strip, and are formed as a pair so as to create two magnetic poles composed of an N pole and an S pole in the width direction of the strip. Coils 1, 31 and 32 are connected to the main inductors and the auxiliary inductors 31, 32 and 4 so that magnetic poles in end parts of the main inductors 1 and 2 and magnetic poles on the strip edge side of the auxiliary inductors 31, 32 and 4 adjacent to these magnetic poles have mutually opposite polarity. Respective ones of the auxiliary inductors 31, 32 and 4 heat the strip in a spot shape.
