Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To decrease contaminants in engine waste gas by connecting an engine-driven drive shaft so as to drive a propeller shaft, and extending the drive shaft through a drive shaft housing to another drive shaft for driving an air pump. CONSTITUTION: A propeller shaft 35 is rotatably driven by a drive shaft 41 via a reversing transmission 39. The drive shaft 41 extends vertically within a drive shaft housing 31 and is drivingly connected at its upper end to the crankshaft 26 of an engine 25 via a male/female spline connection 43. The drive shaft 41 further extends through a pump chamber formed integrally with the drive shaft housing 31 and drives an air pump 91. Therefore, a catalytic converter 81 operates effectively at the speed of the engine 25 and can eliminate contaminants.
