Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain an aromatic polyamide resin capable of increasing concentration of end amino group and controlling molecular weight in a wide range according to the amount of a diamine to be added. CONSTITUTION:An aromatic polyamide resin is produced by adding an aliphatic diamine and/or an alicyclic diamine while applying shear stress to an aromatic polyamide precursor comprising a dicarboxylic acid component unit composed of 30-100mol% of terephthalic acid component unit, 0-70mol% of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid dicarboxylic acid component unit except terephthalic acid and 0-70mol% of a 6-18C straightchain aliphatic dicarboxylic acid component unit and a diamine component unit composed of a 4-25C alkylene group- containing aliphatic diamine component unit and/or an alicyclic diamine component unit in a heated molten state, and subjecting to polycondensation.
