Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain a new compound useful as a side chain at 7-position of a cephalosporin derivative. CONSTITUTION:A compound of formula I (R is H or an amino-protecting group; R and R are each H or a carboxyl-protecting group) or its salt, e.g. 2-(1-tert-butoxycarbonyl-1-vinyloxyimino)-2-(2-tritylaminothiazol-4-yl )acetic acid (syn isomer). This compound can be synthesized by reacting a compound of formula II (R is H or an amino-protecting group; R is H or a carboxyl- protecting group) such as 2-(2-tritylaminothiazol-4-yl)glyoxylic acid with an 0-(1-carboxy-1-vinyl)hydroxylamine derivative of formula III and subsequently eliminating the protecting group as necessary.
