NOISE COMPRESSION DEVICE

PURPOSE:To eliminate a noise by surely discriminating the noises from signals in three primary color video signals. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with a luminance high-pass area signal generation circuit 7 which generates a luminance high-pass area signal YH by mixing high-pass signals RH, GH, and BH sampled from the three primary color video signals with an arbitrary ratio, an absolute amplifier 8 which amplifies the absolute value of the high-pass area signal YH with the arbitrary ratio, and a clipping circuit 10 which generates a noise discrimination signal Z by clipping the signal with a prescribed amplitude level. The noise discrimination signal Z outputted from the clipping circuit 10 is multiplied by the three primary color high-pass area signals RH. GH, and BH, and they are added on three primary color low-pass area signals RL, GL, and BL.
