VIDEO TRANSMITTER

PURPOSE:To transmit a picture, of which picture quality is higher than the picture quality to be presented by one line. CONSTITUTION:On the transmission side, a video signal from a camera 1 provided with certain high resolution is divided into four video signals provided with low resolution to be transmitted by one line by using picture element thinning or macro picture division at a quadripartite device 2. Next, the respective video signals are coded by the CODEC of a coding part 2 and transmitted through four transmission lines 4a, 4b, 4c and 4d. On the other hand, on the reception side, the four transmitted video signals are respectively decoded by the CODEC of a decoding part 5. Next, after out-of-synchronism is corrected, a video signal provided with the original high resolution is provided by performing picture synthesization inverse to the former dividion at a synthesizer 6. Thus, the picture provided with the high picture quality to be presented by one line can be transmitted.
