PORTABLE TELEPHONE SET

PURPOSE:To demand a user to draw out an antenna and to prevent a line from being interrupted by providing a portable telephone set with an antenna position detecting means, and when the antenna is stored at the time of a weak electric field, generating warning. CONSTITUTION:A receiving part 2 receives a signal inputted from an antenna 1 through an antenna connecting part 10 and a received signal level detecting means 3 detects the level of the signal received by the receiving part 2. The antenna position detecting means 4 detects an antenna position inputted from the connecting part 10. When the detection value of the received signal level is less than a threshold and the antenna 1 is arranged other than the position most projected from a casing 7, a control means 5 drives a warning generating means 6 and informs the user to draw out the antenna 1 from the casing 7. Thereby the means 6 generates a warning tone or oscillation, and preferably displays the warning.
