CARTRIDGE CHANGER

PURPOSE:To realize the detections of the reverse insertion of the front-rear directions of a cartridge with a simple construction by a method wherein a cartridge holding transferring means and an infiltrating state detection unit are provided. CONSTITUTION:Rollers 42 are provided on the tips of driven upper and lower holding arms 40 and 41 respectively so as to turn freely and the respective rollers 42 are made to infiltrate into the upper and lower recessed parts 91 and 92 of a cartridge and the detection by a sensor S1 is performed with this process. The sensor S1 is shielded by an actuator 56 which is fixed to the lower holding arm 41 and detects that the holding of the cartridge 90 is completed and that the cartridge 90 is housed in a housing unit correctly without the error of the front-rear insertion directions of the cartridge 90 simultaneously. After that, an auxiliary carriage motor 39 is driven in a reverse direction to transfer the cartridge 90 while the holding state of the holding arms 40 and 41 is maintained and the cartridge 90 is drawn out from a magazine housing unit.
