Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To facilitate the determination of the positions in the axial direction and the circumferential direction and perform the accurate inspection of the inside of a pipe by accurately detecting the present position. CONSTITUTION:This device comprises an expanding mechanism 1, which can be expanded and contracted in the axial direction, a moving mechanism 4, which is moved on a rack 3 movably formed in the axial direction at the tip part of the expanding mechanism 1, a laser distance measuring device 5, which measures the present position of the moving mechanism 4, and a general control device 6, which generally controls the entire system at the outside of the expanding mechanism 1. The moving mechanism 4 comprises legs composed of at least three expanding joints, which are provided in the direction of the diameter at equal intervals, a probe 21, which inspects a pipe 50 in the inside, and a rotary mechanism 22, which rotates the probe 21 in the circumferential direction.
