RECOVERY SYSTEM FOR DISK ARRAY DEVICE

PURPOSE:To exchange a fault disk during the normal operation without turning off the power supply of the computer system when a fault occurs in a disk and to make a recovery of data in the disk array device consisting of plural disks. CONSTITUTION:The device is provided with a disk array device 13 consisting of plural data disks 11 and a parity disk device 12, disk array control device 14 controlling the disk array device 13, fault information statistic means 15 storing the fault information of the disk device as statistical information, statistic information holding means 16 holding the statistical information, means 17 monitoring the state of the device monitoring the state of the disk and notifying the defective disk, and recovery control means 18 specifying the exchange of the errored disk and controlling each processing procedure of the data recovery.
