Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To obtain a method for transferring an IR dye from a transfer plate to a plastic-coated paper in which good light fastness is attained by presenting one kind or more of IR dye selected from a group of specified naphthalocyanine and nickel-dithiolane complex. CONSTITUTION: When an invisible IR dye for printing a bar code, or the like, readable through a suitable detector is transferred from a transfer plate to a plastic coated paper through diffusion or sublimation employing an energy source, a transfer plate where one kind or more of IR dye selected from a group of naphthalocyanine shown by formula I and a specified nickel-dithiolane complex is present is employed. In the formula, Y -Y represent hydrogen, a hydrogen group, C1 -C20 -alkyl or C1 -C20 -alkoxy, Y -Y represent hydrogen, C1 -C20 -alkyl or C1 -C20 -alkoxy, Me represents two hydrogen atoms, two lithium atoms, magnesium, zinc, copper, nickel, VO, TiO or AlCl.
