Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To remove efficiently nitrogen oxides, etc., from combustion gas containing oxygen in the theoretical amount of a reaction or more by using an exhaust gas cleaning material comprising the first catalyst, the second catalyst, and the third catalyst, which are specified respectively, and adding a reductant to exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust gas cleaning material comprises the first catalyst in which silver or silver oxide 0.2-15wt.% based on a porous inorganic oxide and at least one kind of element selected from the group consisting of Pt, Pd, Ru, Rh, Ir, and Au 0.1wt.% or less based on the inorganic oxide are supported with the porous inorganic oxide, the second catalyst in which W oxide and/or V oxide 1-15wt.% based on the inorganic oxide is supported with the porous inorganic oxide, and the third catalyst in which at least one kind of element selected from a group consisting of Pt, Pd, Ru, Rh, Ir, and Au 5wt.% or less based on the inorganic oxide is supported with the porous inorganic oxide. The exhaust gas cleaning material is placed in an exhaust gas introduction pipe, and exhaust gas to which an oxygen contained organic compound with two or more C or fuel containing the organic compound is added upstream from the cleaning material is contacted with the exhaust gas cleaning material at 150-650 deg.C.
