EXTENDED MASK, ITS MANUFACTURE, AND COLOR CATHODE-RAY TUBE

PURPOSE:To provide an extended mask suppressed in twisting of grid, its manufacturing method, and a color cathode-ray tube having no stripe unevenness. CONSTITUTION:A substantially rectangular plate-like flat grill 3 is extended over and welded to the surfaces opposite to vertical frames 2, 2 of horizontal frames 11 supported by the vertical frames 2, 2. The flat grill 3 has a plurality of slits 4, 4 having a length slightly shorter than the distance between the horizontal frames 1, 1, and the spaces between slits 4, 4... form grids 5, 5... On the surface reversed to the welded surface of the flat grill 3, or the surface, a plurality of circular recessed parts 8, 8,... are formed on both long-side edge parts. The recessed parts are formed in such a manner that a plurality of lines formed at prescribed intervals in the long side direction of the flat grill 3 are arranged zigzag with a prescribed distance in the short side direction, and either one of the lines is situated on the welded position.
