Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To accurately detect a water leakage position and to evaluate its scale by measuring a potential by many electrodes disposed in a planar manner, converting a potential distribution into an apparent pole-dipole array specific resistance, and compensating influence of a specific resistance structure by using the obtained resistance distribution. CONSTITUTION:A ground surface 10 is dug, an electrical insulation water barrier sheet 12 is laid, and waste 14 is put therein. An inner current electrode C1 is provided in this disposal place, an outer current electrode is provided out of the place, an electric searching unit is connected to the electrodes, and many electrodes Pij are provided in the place. The electrode C1 is conducted to the outer current electrode, potentials are measured at the respective electrodes Pij to obtain a planar electric field distribution. On the other hand, a specific resistance distribution is measured by a pole-dipole array by using the electrodes Pij. The measured potential phiij indicates a water leakage position by a minimum value when the apparent pole-dipole array specific resistance rhop is obtained by calculation only with the distance from the electrode C1 as a function, and a relative residual difference from an apparent square array specific resistance rhos is differentiated. Its scale can be evaluated from the obtained electric leakage amount.
