Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE:To extract high picture quality reinforcing information in an excellent way even when an S/N of an input signal is not excellent by increasing a signal level with a variable gain amplifier at a pre-stage of an A/D converter when the high picture quality reinforcing information of upper/lower mask parts is demodulated so as to extract the high picture quality reinforcing information thereby reducing the effect of a quantization noise. CONSTITUTION:A video signal is inputted to a signal discrimination section 3 via a variable gain amplifier 1 and an A/D converter 2. The discrimination section 3 discriminates whether the broadcast is an NTSC broadcast or an EDTVII broadcast. Then a main/mask decision section 4 decides whether or not a mask part is received, increase a gain of the amplifier 1 when the signal is the mask part and passes the video signal as it is with the gain of the unity. The pre-picture as above is implemented, then a VH demodulation section 6 and a VT demodulation section 7 obtains a VH signal and a VT signal respectively in which the effect of a quantized noise is reduced. When a usual video signal of the main part is received, a switch 8 is turned to the position (b), a Y/C/HH separate section 9 separates signals Y, C, HH, a demodulation section 10 demodulates the signal HH, and a luminance signal in which a horizontal high frequency component of the Y signal is improved is obtained from an adder 13. |
