Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To make a disk device thin by a method wherein, when a caddy which houses a disk is inserted into the disk device, a movable frame is turned upward and a disk table and a pickup are inserted from below the caddy. CONSTITUTION:When a caddy 1 in which a CD-ROM 2 is housed is pulled into by an insertion completion device P4 and reaches the center of a disk table 23, a moving frame 20 is driven to turn upward. Then, the table 23 and an objective lens 24 for an optical pickup 25 are inserted into an opening in the caddy 1 from the lower part. Consequently, the table 23 is fitted into the central hole of the ROM 2, it raises the intermediate part of the caddy 1, the ROM 2 is magnetically chucked onto the table 23 by a disk clamper, and the lens 24 is brought close to the rear surface. After that, the ROM 2 is turned integrally with the table 23 by a spindle motor, and a recording and operation is performed. When the movable frame is turned up and down in this manner, a large space is not required, and a device can be made thin.
