MAGNETIC DISK DEVICE

PURPOSE:To enhance the reliability and to reduce the cost with a simple structure on the magnetic disk device of a head lift system. CONSTITUTION:A rigid base part 2, a spring part 3 and a rigid tip part 4 are integrally continuously joined up to form a head arm 1. A magnetic head 7 is fixed to the tip of a head holder 6. The tip part 4 is formed integrally with a contact part 4a of a crossbar shape, and this part 4a is usually separated from the head holder 6 not to be in contact with its lower surface, but when the tip part 4 is lifted, the contact part 4a is brought into contact with the lower surface of the head holder 6 to b lifted up together. A cam 20 is engraved in corresponding to a pin 5 fixed to the top of the tip part 4 to be formed in a part of a cover plate 11. A plane part 21, a slope part 22 of acclivity to the left side in the figure and a recessed part 23 of a semicircular shape into which the pin 5 can be fitted are continuously joined to form an outline surface of the cam 20. When the head arm 1 is revolved to the center side, the pin 5 is moved to follow the outline surface in a fixed position so that the magnetic head 7 is separated from the disk 10.
