CURSOR POSITION INPUT DEVICE

PURPOSE:To provide a compact, light and inexpensive cursor position input device without requiring a flat using space. CONSTITUTION:The cursor position input device is constituted of an input means 1a consisting of a resistor plate part 10 forming a band-like resistor body extended in the circumferential direction from a common conductor 11 arranged in the vertical direction on the surface of a cylindrical insulating body and changing the resistance value of the resistor successively in the circumferential direction and in stages in the vertical direction, an operation part 20 provided with a sliding shaft part 13a connecting its upper part to the conductor 11 and a pushbutton switch part 24 and a box body part 30 arranging a contact 22a on the inside of a cylinder and a sliding shaft hole 23a on the upper part of the periphery of the operation part 20, a detecting means for detecting a resistance value between the conductor 11 and the contact 22a and a contact signal from the switch part 24, an A/D conversion means for converting a detection signal by the detecting means into a digital signal, a coordinate conversion means for converting the resistance value into a X-Y coordinate value, and an output means for sending a signal from the coordinate conversion means.
