OPTICAL CABLE CONNECTING BOX

PURPOSE:To provide an optical cable connecting box capable of stably improving the holding force of a tension member by a base member and retaining member in clamping of the tension member. CONSTITUTION:A clamp 4 for holding the tension member of the optical cable 1 consists of the base member 41, the retaining member 42 and a tightening member 4. The base member 41 has a tension member supporting surface 4a. The retaining member 42 has a tension member retaining surface 4b and a tension member insertion groove 42a to be disposed opposite to such tension member supporting surface 4a. The base of the tension member insertion groove 42a of the retaining member 42 is so formed as to project higher in the direction of pressing the tension member than the tension member retaining surface 4b. The base of the tension member insertion groove 42a of the retaining member 42 is so graded as to face the side marginal edge 41 a of the tension member supporting surface 4a of the base member 41.
