Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To produce a hydrogen storage alloy having a homogeneous structure free from segregation phases, sharply reduced in the plateau region inclination of a PCT curve, and improved in charging and discharging efficiency even at the time of use as a battery material. CONSTITUTION:A molten alloy of the desired alloy composition is rapidly solidified at >=10 K/sec cooling rate. For example, a molten alloy of the desired alloy composition is formed by means of high-frequency induction heating by using a melt spinning method, and this molten alloy is jetted through an orifice onto a cooling body and rapidly solidified at >=10 K/sec cooling rate.
