Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To constitute an actuator into a light weight, prevent loss due to leakage of hydrogen gas, reduce sliding resistance of a piston, promote return of the actuator to the piston, and provide regular reciprocating movement of the actuator with a very small quantity of metal hydride in use. CONSTITUTION:Metal hydride 4 is so contained in a container 7, which is connected to a cylinder 1 via a communication type 8 for allowing flow of hydrogen gas, as to be divided from the inside of the cylinder 1 by a filter 3 and a gap having a size enough for promoting return of a piston 2 by hydrogen gas, which interposes between a bellows 6 and the cylinder 1, is set between the piston 2 and the cylinder 1.
