Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain the subject deinking agent containing two specific ether compound components in a specific weight ratio and capable of providing regenerated paper having high whiteness by efficiently releasing ink from printed waste paper and exhibiting excellent released ink collecting force. CONSTITUTION:(A) An ether compound of formula I [R is a 10-14C alkyl; AO is one kind of residue selected from ethylene oxide(EO), propylene oxide(PO) and buthylene oxide; (p) is 1-100] (obtained by adding an alkylene oxide to a higher alcohol) is blended with (B) an ether compound of formula II (R is a 16-22C alkyl or a 16-22C alkenyl; R is H or a 2-24C acyl; XO is PO, EO or 23C alkylene oxide; (m) is 1-8; (n) is 10-40; K is number capable of providing 3-120 as total carbon number of polymer XO; additions of PO and EO give block form) in a weight ratio of the component A/B of (5/95) to (45/55) to provide the objective deinking agent for regenerating waste paper, capable of effectively releasing ink attached to printed waste paper and especially suitable for use in a floatation method.
