TREATMENT OF EXUDED WATER IN LANDFILL

PURPOSE:To conserve space and cost, in treating exuded water from a final waste disposal site by tagether using a high COD waste water treatment process and a low COD waste water treatment process, by detecting rainfall conditions to change over the respective waste water treatment processes. CONSTITUTION:Exuded water 1 from a final waste disposal site is sent to a conditioning tank 3 through a water gathering measure 2 and treatment processes are changed by the water gauge provided to the conditioning tank 3. That is, when rainfall intensity and the amt. of rainfall are low and the water level of the conditioning tank is low, high COD waste water is treated with a biological treatment process 4 employing a standard activated sludge process and, when rainfall intensity and the amt. of rainfall are high and the water level of the conditioning tank is high, a physicochemical treatment process employing a chemical oxidation method is adapted to treat low COD waste water. The water receiving the respective treatments is discharged as treated water 6. By this constitution, exuded water is efficiently treated and the maintenance and control thereof is made easy.
