Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain an evaluation image readily understandable by a human by carrying out the analytical processing of a luminance informational image from a plant caught by a video camera and providing an image exactly reflecting the fluctuation in vitality of the plant. CONSTITUTION:This method for preparing an evaluation image of the fluctuation in vitality of a plant is to pick up reflected light at a specific wavelength from the plant as a luminance informational image with a video camera, carry out automatic regulation of a diaphragm so as to provide a proper level of a video image signal based on a relational expression of the quantity of spectral radiant energy of illuminating light at the time of measurement and a voltage value controlling the diaphragm of a video camera lens, prepare a corrected image of shading incident-light quantity for an output voltage value of the video camera or take a difference at the respective reference positions between images at different times using an image output value from a 'healthy' plant from a histogram of the luminance informational image as the reference positions and adjust the level or classify the vitality of the plant into four ranks 'health', 'caution', 'alarm' and 'disease' and display the rank with a pseudocolor image or take a difference of the classified images and provide an image evaluating a change in the vitality in time series.
