Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To produce the subject compound useful as a raw material for a transparent resin producible by an easily controllable polymerization process and having high surface strength and excellent heat-resistance, etc., without using a low-boiling solvent in high yield in an easily purifiable state. CONSTITUTION:Bis(isopropenylphenoxycarbonyloxyethyl)ether expressed by the formula can be produced by reacting 1mol of diethylene glycol dichloroformate with 2.0-3.0mol of an isopropenylphenol alkali metal salt in a mixture of water, a polar solvent (e.g. acetone or ethyl methyl ketone) and a non-polar solvent (e.g. benzene, toluene or xylene) at 0-45 deg.C, especially 3-10 deg.C. It is preferable to use 800-1,000ml of water, 120-180ml of the polar solvent and 800-1,500ml of the non-polar solvent based on 1mol of the diethylene glycol dichloroformate.
