Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain a rubber xcellent in workability in rolling, mechanical properties, heat resistance, freeze resistance, oil resistance and permanent compression set and hence suitable for industrial material applications, and a rubber composition containing the rubber. CONSTITUTION:The rubber is a graft copolymer rubber with a Mooney viscosity (ML1-4, 100 deg.C) of 30-150 and obtained by graft-copolymerizing 50-95wt.% of a hydrogenated diene polymer (a), formed by hydrogenating the diene polymer portion of a random copolymer comprising an aromatic vinyl compound and a conjugated diene compound, the copolymer having a number-average molecular weight of 5,000-1,000,000, the diene portion having a vinyl bond content of 10-90%, so that at least 50% of the unsaturated olefinic bonds of the copolymer are hydrogenated, with 5-50wt.% of a vinyl cyanide monomer and/or carboxylated vinyl monomer (b).
