CONSTITUTION:MK8062 substance having following physical properties in the form of a free acid and an estimated structure represented by formula I (R is formula II; R is formula III). (A) color and shape: white powder; (B) molecular formula: C45H64O17; (C) mass spectra (FD-MS): 899 (M+Na); (D) specific rotatory power: [alpha] D=+3.6 deg. (C1.0, CH3OH); (E) solubility: soluble in methanol and ethyl acetate, sparingly soluble in chloroform and insoluble in water; (F) classification of base, acid and neutral: weakly acidic substance; (G) minimum inhibitory concentration (mug/ml) for fungi: Candida ablicans TIMM 1768 (0.20), Candida albicans c-a-24 (0.39), Saccharomyces cerevisiae X 2180-1A (6.25), etc.; This substance can be obtained by culturing Tricothecium sp.D2640 (FERMP-13904), etc.
