DEVICE FOR MONITORING RECEPTION LEVEL IN DIGITAL RADIO EQUIPMENT AND METHOD THEREFOR

PURPOSE:To easily recognize the decline of a reception level and to prevent the disconnection of a communication channel due to the decline of the reception level by generating noise or tone signal sound corresponding to the reception level and adding it to sound signals. CONSTITUTION:A part of the output of reception signals inputted to the demodulation part 6 of a reception part 4 is inputted to a reception level monitoring part 8 and the level of the reception signals is monitored. Then, when inputted reception level information is weak enough to make communication difficult, the monitoring part 8 outputs driving signals for generating the noise inversely proportional to it. A noise generation part 9 generates digital signals pertinent to the noise corresponding to the inputted driving signals. A mixer 10 adds the noise from the generation part 9 to digital sound signals inputted from a decoding part 7 and a D/A conversion part 11 analog-converts the digital sound signals to which the noise is added and outputs them as sound from a speaker 12. Thus, a caller can search a place where the reception level is high without removing an ear from the radio equipment.
