RECORDING/REPRODUCING METHOD AND TRACKING METHOD FOR MAGNETIC RECORDING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording method capable of narrow-track recording/reproducing. CONSTITUTION:The device is provided with a recording head 102 for recording a recording signal including a tracking signal on a magnetic tape and a reproducing head 101 being in a reproduction state at recording. The recording head 102 and the reproducing head 101 are mounted on the same supporting body 103 so that the reproducing head 101 may be at least positioned on a track where the recording has been executed just before the track where the recording is now executed by the recording head 102 and also on the track where the recording was executed before that. Recording is executed by the recording head 102 while tracking so that the reproducing head 101 may be positioned on a prescribed tracking position by a tracking signal obtained from the reproducing head 101.
