GLASS SCREEN COUPLING METHOD FOR LARGE OPENING OF BUILDING

PURPOSE:To maintain proper strength and safety by providing a plurality of plate glasses continuously in a horizontal direction to form a glass screen, and keeping the screen abutted to the longitudinal side of an adjacent plate glass like a continuous pleat. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of plate glasses 1a, 1b and 1c are laid in an opening 2 side by side in a breadthwise direction, thereby forming a glass screen 1. Also, long-sized guide blocks 3a and 4a are coupled to the upper side 3 and lower side 4 of each of the glasses 1a, 1b and 1c. In addition, the joint section of the vertical side 5 of each of the glasses 1a, 1b and 1c is filled with a sealing material made of a silicone sealant, and formed like a pleat continuous in a breadthwise direction. According to this construction, the plate glasses 1a, 1b and 1c act on one another as a plate glass stiffener in common, thereby increasing substantially the wind pressure resistant strength of the whole of the screen 1.
