Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To provide a cosmetic free from stringiness in spite of sufficient thixotropy, exhibiting transparency and having excellent stability and feeling to the skin. CONSTITUTION:This cosmetic is produced by compounding 0.01-20wt.%, especially 0.3-6wt.% (based on the cosmetic) of a polyvalent metal salt of a phosphoric acid diester expressed by the formula [R is 1-20C straight or branched- chain alkyl; R and R are 2-3C straight or branched-chain alkylene; R is 3-20C straight-chain alkylene or 5-20C branched-chain alkylene; A is COO or O; x and y are 0-10; L is l-40C straight or branched-chain alkyl or R -(OR )x-A- R -(OR )y; M is bivalent or polyvalent metal; m is number equal to the atomic valence of the polyvalent metal]. The polyvalent metal is preferably Ca or Al.
