Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To greatly reduce the amount of the incidental work required for the whole conversion work by carrying the diesel main engine outside of the hull through a hatch of a cargo hold by a crane after the diesel main engine is moved into the cargo hold along the rails. CONSTITUTION:A pair of right and left rails 12 are installed through a frame 14 so that the engine room 2 may be continuous with the adjacent cargo hold 7 by making an opening 9 in a floor part therebetween. Then, the suspended diesel main engine 5 is lowered to be loaded on the rails 12, the chains 11 are removed, the diesel main engine 5 is moved along the rails 12, and located in the cargo hold 7 after passing through the opening 9 in the bulkhead 8. In this position, the diesel main engine 5 on the rails 12 is suspended by the crane by making use of a hatch 15 of the cargo hold 7 and carried outside of the hull 1 in a batch.
