PURPOSE:To manufacture a film of uniform crystallization on the surface and bear of the film and of good transparency without curling by bringing a sheet- like material in contact with a cooling drum and spraying water in the form of fine particle mist on the surface opposite to the surface in contact with the cooling drum. CONSTITUTION:For example, resin composed of polypropyrene with inorganic particles added is fed from a hopper into an extruder 1 and extruded from a melting temperature T-type die 2 onto a cooling drum 3. At that time, water in the form of mist is sprayed from a slit type nozzle 7 onto a sheet-like material 4 on the cooling drum 3 to cool and solidify said material. After that, the same is stretched in the longitudinal direction at the stretching temperature, and then said stretched film is guided into a heat insulated stenter to be stretched by seven times as much in the lateral direction. Thus, a film having good film manufacturing properties in the stretching process and of uniform crystallization on the surface and the rear of the film and with small numbers of voids is manufactured.
