Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To provide the structure with which the large-area oriented films are easily obtainable and the process for production. CONSTITUTION:Fine rugged parts of an aligned state are formed on the liquid crystal 20 side of the oriented film 19. The oriented film 19 is divided to plural regions. The rugged parts are exactly aligned to each of these divided regions. Non-aligned regions where the rugged parts of the divided regions on both sides of boundary parts 19a of the divided regions are not aligned are formed in these boundary parts. The non-aligned regions are disposed in the non-display area of the liquid crystal 20. Then, the non-aligned regions of the rugged parts are disposed in the non-display area of the liquid crystal 20 according to such constitution and, therefore, the generation of a disturbance in the display occurring in the non-alignment is obviated. Since the exact formation of the fine rugged parts in the aligned state in each of the divided regions is merely necessitated, the oriented film 19 obviating the generation of the disturbance in the display even with the large-area oriented film 19 is obtd.
