METHOD AND DEVICE FOR GENERATING THREE-DIMENSIONAL CAD SUPPORT DATA

PURPOSE:To uniformly design a support structure which supports piping, etc., on a body in a short time without depending on the skillfulness of a designer when the support structure is designed after the plant piping, etc., is designed. CONSTITUTION:When the support structure for the piping, etc., is designed after the piping, etc., of a plant is designed by using CAD, an operator specifies a support fitting point which generates the support structure on a plan of the piping, etc., which is displayed on a screen. A design assisting device selects shape pattern candidates of the support structure which are considered to be proper for the specified point among shape patterns which are previously registered in a memory on the basis of design data, etc., on the piping 200A at the specified point and displays them at part of the screen. Then, detailed data on sizes, etc., of the support structure which match design data at the specified point are automatically generated by using the shape patterns that the operator selects and the shape of the support structure is displayed at the specified point.
