Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to aqueous dispersions of water-soluble polymers formed by polymerisation of a mixture A) of various monomer constituents a1), a2) and optionally a3) in the presence of a polymeric dispersant D, with the proviso that the mixture A) is built up from the following, chemically different monomer constituents: a1) from 99 to 70% by weight of at least one water-soluble monomer, a2) from 1 to 30% by weight of at least one hydrophobic monomer, and optionally a3) from 0 to 20% by weight of at least one amphiphilic monomer, where monomer components a1), a2) and a3) in each case add up to 100% by weight, and that the water-soluble polymers have a mean molecular weight Mw (weight average) of at least 10 daltons.
