Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain a new substituted pyridinesulfonamide compound useful as a herbicide exhibiting broad herbicidal spectrum. CONSTITUTION:A compound of formula I [R1 is (substituted)alkyl; R2 is (substituted) alkyl or (substituted)alkoxy; X and Y are alkyl or alkoxy], e.g. 6-[(N-ethyl-N-isopropylsulfonyl)amino]-N-[[(4-methoxy-6-methyltriazin- 2-yl) amino]carbonyl]-2-pyridinesulfonamide. This compound of formula I is obtained by reacting a substituted pyridine compound of formula II [Z1 is NH2-NCO or NHCO2R3 (R3 is alkyl or aryl)] with a triazine compound of formula III (Z2 is NH2 when Z1 is NCO or NHCO2R3 and Z2 is NCO or NHCO2R3 when Z1 is NH2).
