MACHINE TOOL WITH TURNTABLE

PURPOSE: To simply guide a conduit to a turntable without damaging the machining space above the turntable by passing the conduit through a coupler between the upper part of the turntable and the fixed lower part, and opening the coupler when the turntable is rotated, and closing the same at the end of turning operation. CONSTITUTION: A turntable 14 has a cylindrical upper part 20, and a flat mounting plate 18 for receiving a workpiece is provided on the upper surface thereof. The upper part 20 is disposed to be rotatable about the axis 34 of rotation, and placed on the concentric cylindrical lower part 22, the lower part 22 being installed on a machine head 24. In a position where the turntable 14 is turned by specified angle, the upper part 20 is lowered on the lower part 22 by lowering of the shaft 28. Simultaneously with such operation, coupler modules 30a, 30b and 32a, 32b are connected to each other. Thus, conduits 38a, 38b or 40a, 40b guided through the coupler modules 30a, 30b, 32a, 32b are connected to each other.
